Today was probably my last bit of sanity for a few days. Tomorrow I head to Springfield and after a bit of shopping I'm picking up the kids from their last day of school. Later I'll also pick up the little guy from daycare. Doyle and I are looking forward to not having to "share" the kids for a couple of days, although I'm sure their Daddy will be around.
As for my "big" plans of getting a lot done around the house on my days off---not so much! It's been so nice to just "be home" that I admit I've been kind of lazy. I did get some cleaning and organizational things done, so I will be content with what I've gotten done, for now. Everything will get done, just not in one week.

4 of 10 and 5 of 10
Monday and Tuesday. Monday was spent just puttering around the house, cleaning a little and doing some laundry. Tuesday needs to be a more productive day here at the house. I have a list a mile long of things I want to accomplish this week and the week is flying by. I just have today and tomorrow because Thursday I'm heading to Springfield early to do a little shopping before I pick up the Grand kids. Friday will be a bust as the kids will be here and I won't want to be doing chores. So, I've got to get off this computer and dive into that list!

3 of 10 aka Mother's Day 2013
What a wonderful Sunday we had. My sweet husband started the day off right by taking me and my Mom out for breakfast. After breakfast we stopped by Brad's to drop some items off that the kids had left here. Cameron wanted to come home with us so bad, I felt bad for even stopping. So I wasn't surprised when Brad asked if they could come out in the afternoon. The kids had a blast again just being outside and doing "kid" things. Brad got the little motorcycle out and gave rides to the kids, and the little pickup is always a hit with Amber's boys. Those boys sat in that truck for almost the whole time they were here. When Brad said it was time to get back home so they would be there when Chely got there, Cameron parked himself in the recliner and told me he was staying. I said but your Mom will be sad that you're not there when she gets there to pick you up, he told me she would know where he was. There's no getting around that kids' ideas! So I carried him out to the truck and put him in and reminded him that I would be picking him up on Thursday and he was coming to my house then. Hard to believe that school is out this week, seems like it just started. Doyle and I ended our day by spotting not only the Moon and Jupiter but also Venus as it was right over the horizon at dusk, such a wonderful and humbling sight.

2 of 10
Well, my plans for Friday changed a little. Brad asked if the kids could be dropped off at our house until later on Friday evening as him and Amber had plans, my answer was yes, of course. Then Chely called and said she was running late, could I meet her about halfway and pick up the kids, my answer was yes, of course. So I'm going out the door as Doyle is coming in and when I finally got home with the kids, fixed a little supper, it was going on 8pm. The kids then talked Brad into letting them spend the night at our house.
Saturday was spent outside for the most part. The kids love to ride their bikes at our house and just run around the yard. Cameron has found the tire swing and fallen in love. We had the kids here until after supper (they love it when Papa cooks steaks on the grill and Nana makes baked potatoes), and until Cameron was done in the bath. He was a mess, black hands and face from the tire. When we took them to Brad's it was a chore getting left. Cameron was crying to come with us and the older two were dropping hints to just stay with us again. We told them all that they needed to spend a little time with their Dad since they would be going home on Sunday.
I love having the kids here, but they wear me out! I think some of the problem is they don't want to go to bed so I end up staying up until they are asleep. Which means I usually fall asleep on the couch and wake up sometime in the night and make my way to bed. They are planning on being here quite a bit this summer so we might have to be stricter on the bed time routine.

1 of 10
Today is day 1 of 10 off work for me. With the new healthcare law, lower reimbursement, etc.. some of us that have quite a bit of PTO (paid time off) saved up are being forced to take some of that time. It's really pretty simple, our PTO comes out of a different account so, we still get paid but it looks like our department is saving some money. I personally don't mind, as long as I still have enough hours in the bank to get me to short term disability (if something bad were to happen to me). Anyway, I'm getting a little unscheduled vacation. I spent this morning getting some shopping done and this afternoon I'll be getting a much needed haircut and color. I'm planning on making a trip to Springfield one day with my Mom and I hope to get the grandkids at some point. I need to sit down and make a big "to do" list and stick to it.

A Little Staycation
Whew, I made it through to my mini stay-cation of four days off. Work has been taxing me lately, not really the work itself, but getting through the day. I continue to have problems sleeping, and again not getting to sleep, but getting back to sleep if I wake up. And of course, I wake up every night with a million things going through my mind. My doctor prescribed a sleep/stress aid but I'm reluctant to take it too often. I don't want to get dependant on it where I will never be able to sleep without it. I will say that it does work pretty good, when I do allow myself to take it. That is when I've missed several nights of sleep and just can't go without another one.
My time off, what should I do and what do I want to do. Well, I should finish my spring cleaning, but I want to go to Springfield on Friday, do a little shopping, and bring the kiddo's home with me. I haven't even asked to see if they could come home with me, but like I said, that's what I want to do. This week is "National Scrapbook Week", so all my favorite craft stores are having some really good sales that I would like to browse. I don't need a thing, but it's always fun to look, and I'm sure I would find something that I just have to have.
I also need to get with my Mom sometime this weekend and help her with her new computer. She bought a new laptop and it has Windows 8 installed on it, I managed to get it registered and set up but oh my, the operating system is so different from any Windows before it. I finally ordered her a "Windows 8 for Dummies" book which arrived this week. Someone told me those were the best books for most people to learn from. Hopefully it will help us both as I'm due to upgrade my dinosaur laptop soon.
I'm not sure if I'll make it back here before the weekend. I hope whoever is reading this has a wonderful weekend and that you get to enjoy it how you want. As for me, I'm gonna take each day as it comes.
